From this page you can download Ciw82upd.exe, which will install the most recent version of Chart-It for Windows on your system. This update eliminates the “expired beta” error message that some users have reported.

To download, simply right click on the link above and select save target.  Place it in a directory of your choosing and download.

It is very important to back up your database before updating! To do this, use Windows Explorer to browse to the folder C:\CIW\DATA\ and look for a file named Charting.MDB — make a copy of this file and keep it in a safe place, in case youneed to restore it later.

In addition, it’s a good idea to back up the CIW.INI file on each workstation or server on which Chart-It is installed. This file is stored in the C:\Windows directory. After installing, copy the original CIW.INI file back over the newly installed one to restore all your settings.

Please burn this file onto a CD and load it on each work station individually from the local drive.  If you attempt to load this from the network, you will have trouble identifying the proper network drive.  The other option is to copy the install program to the local "C:" drive and load from there.  Please select the "Program Files Installation" versus the workstation install as this will give you a more complete install.

When installation is complete, contact the Chart-It support staff to authorize each workstation with a new serial number. You’ll need to let us know:

• the “System ID” number displayed in the registration dialog box of each Chart-It installation; and
• the exact licensee value you entered into the “Name” field of those registration dialog boxes (this must be the same on each machine running Chart-It under a single license).
