Installation and Configuration

Although Chart-It can also be coupled to and used with a Practice Management Software (PMS) system, instructions for that application are beyond the scope of this manual.  To configure Chart-It for use with a PMS, locate integration instructions in your PMS documentation or contact your PMS vendor.

Before proceeding with Chart-It installation and setup, ensure that requirements cited in the list given below have been met.

• The computer meets minimum requirements outlined in The Overview.
• If on a network, all computers on the network are functioning properly independently and are able to communicate with each other.
• The Inkjet color printer is operating properly.
• All Chart-It disks required for installation are at hand.
• If using a light pen or other device, test it for proper operation.
• You have contacted the personnel at Chart-It in advance if you need the network key at the time of installation.  Without the key, the system will function properly, however, it will be in demo mode until the network key is enabled.

Upon running the Setup.exe located on your Chart-It cd, you will be presented with this welcome / information screen.  Click either Next to continue or Cancel to end the installation without installing.

If you selected at the Welcome Screen, you will now be brought to the Select Components Option Screen.  While the Workstation will save space, we highly recommend that you select the Program Files Installation on all workstations and servers.  Click either Next to continue or Cancel to end the installation without installing.

Assuming you clicked Next above, then you will be presented with the License Screen.  Click either Next to continue or Cancel to end the installation without installing.

Click Finish to complete and exit the install program.  You may be prompted to restart the system once the program has analyzed the files to determine if this step is necessary or not.

After successfully starting Chart-It, you can move to the next chapter and customize the program to fit your own unique practice environment.
