Patient and Provider Information

New patient information can be entered into Chart-It manually if desired.

If you have a practice management software system (PMS), a Chart-It interface may be available that will permit you to enter patient information into the PMS and have the patient information flow automatically into Chart-It.

Find Patients

If the information you seek is for an existing patient, select Find Patient.

A new panel will appear.

To specify the patient, either....

  • type the first letter or two of the patient's name in the panel window, or

  • use the letter pad to click the first letter or two of the patients name

Then select either Last Name or Find Patient ID.

A Patient List panel will appear with a list of names or ID's that most closely matches the letters you have entered.  Select the patient by double clicking on the name or by selecting the patient's name and clicking the OK button.

New Patients

To enter information for a new patient....

  • enter the patient's ID.

  • Complete the requested information in each field, pressing the Tab key to move the cursor quickly to the next field. ( you may also move between fields with the click of mouse or the touch of a light pen.

  • Double click on the choice you select when a list box is present.

Chart-It requires a unique Patient ID for each Patient.  If you are connected to a PMS, the PMS will enter this information automatically for you.

On the medical entry window, you may enter conditions directly or select the list box to view and select from the more common conditions a practitioner may encounter.

The Health Alert feature can be toggled "on" or "off" by clicking on the box.

When Alert is turned on, a read alert flag will blink on appropriate charting screens to remond you that a medical alert is active.

Save

After entering the new patient's relevant information, select Save to record this information in Chart-It.

Edit Providers

Select Edit Providers to add, edit or delete a provider or an assistant.

Other Charting Menu Selections

Mode

Selection of Mode allows you to switch screens to Restorative or Periodontal charting.

Switch To

The Switch To option allows you to jump to other programs that may be integrated into Chart-It including but not limited to video systems / x-ray systems like CaptureDent.

About

The About option displays the information about the specific release of Chart-It that you are running.

Exit

The Exit option closes the program and returns you to Windows.
